The Beat is a drama series that followed the day-to-day life of two NYPD officers, Mike Dorrigan (Derek Cecil) and Zane Marinelli (Mark Ruffalo).
The series was produced by the same team as Homicide: Life on the Street, and characters from that series, including Det. John Munch have crossover appearances.
It premiered on UPN on March 21, 2000.
