2002
Possession is a 2002 mystery drama written and directed by Neil LaBute and starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Aaron Eckhart. It’s based on the 1990 novel of the same name by A. S. Byatt.
Roland Michell, an aspiring American scholar in the challenging realm of British Academia, strives to escape the shadow of his mentor. His breakthrough comes when he stumbles upon a set of love letters belonging to a renowned Victorian poet he admires deeply. Intrigued, Roland embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind the letters, eventually narrowing down the possible authors to a woman who is not the poet's wife but another prominent figure from the Victorian era.
