HIDER IN THE HOUSE
1989
Hider in the House is a 1989 psychological thriller directed by Matthew Patrick and starring Gary Busey and Mimi Rogers.
The story revolves around Tom Sykes, a recently released psychiatric patient, who secretly takes residence in the attic of the Dreyer family's newly constructed house, spying on them through electronic surveillance.
Despite its initial plan for release in 1,200 theaters across the United States, the film faced setbacks due to Vestron's financial difficulties and ultimately never received a theatrical premiere in the country. Instead, it was limited to screenings at various film festivals. It found success upon its U.K. cinema release on October 9, 1989, receiving rave reviews and positive feedback wherever it was shown.
