Deliver Us From Eva
2003
Deliver Us from Eva is a 2003 romantic comedy starring LL Cool J and Gabrielle Union considered by many to be a modern update on William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.
The film centers around Eva Dandridge and her sisters, who have been taking care of each other since their parents died when they were young. Because of this dynamic, Eva is overly involved in her sisters' lives, which causes a lot of tension between her and her sisters' romantic partners, so they pay a man to date her in the hopes of getting her off their back. Problems arise when they begin to actually fall in love.
